Bowling Green, KY 2002

The following are photos and descriptions from
Bowling Green on Oct. 19.

A little 500 mile trip to the first clinic of the season, which was ably put on by Kenny Welch at his new modern repair facility in a beautiful and growing corporate and business park.  Green grass and clean surroundings; being well equipped in a new building, make this a great place to work in I'm sure.

Kenny surveying the situation. Kenny welcoming everyone and making introductions.
The first clinician was Cliff Blackburn of Blackburn Trumpet & Louisville Leadpipes.

Cliff was very informative about how he developed his products, very down to earth.

Cliff was very excited about his new product, the solid brass "finger torture" unit.
Actually, he was showing how he overcame centering problems with his valve casings.
Sharing the day was Bill Mathews of Yamaha. He discussed proprietary Yamaha repair issues and some easier methods of doing certain repairs on their instruments.

Bill had the answers and he also did a lot of listening.

Bill covered the instruments Yamaha makes and their "different" methods.

Kenny did a fine job of keeping everything moving and ON schedule. It was a FULL day starting promptly at 8:30 am and going passed 5:30 pm to end. He also had some gourmet snacks for the breaks along with plenty of coffee and soda pop.
Robert Rowe drove 1200 miles from Long Island, New York to be here for this subject matter. Susie May Williamson from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware I had met at the Red Wing Gab last year. In all, Eight (8!) states were represented. Along with NY and DE were VA, KY, IN, GA, OH and MI.
Some of the long distance runners were Sylvester Artis II of Hampton, VA, David Ferens of Rome, GA, and Norm Norris of Virginia Beach, VA.
Thank you Kenny Welch and Opus Horn Repair for a good and knowledgeable time.
