Lowell Greer, French Horn, Phd.
I don't think anyone ENJOYS playing the French Horn
more than Lowell Greer and there may be only a few that enjoy it as much, though
Kendall Betts comes to mind.
When I was at the 2006 Midwest Horn Workshop, recently, I attended his lecture about the Natural
Horn entitled, "Why play the Natural Horn?" I learned much I did not previously know.
Below, are some of the action pictures I took while he packed his audience with facts
about the subject.

Horns Lowell used to illustrate his talk. Here pointing out
the difference in taper.

This horn sings, you would never know that it had no valves. Listen!

Very pleasing to the ear.
Sometimes, it needs a little help.

Sometimes a point needs to be made. And you need to use your head, think!

The information just flowed, you could tell he enjoyed this sharing of
everything.
