Yamaha Specific Training 2002
The following are photos and descriptions from the YAMAHA
Specific Training session in Grand Rapids, MI held October 22-24.
Do you know what time you have to get up to be in the parking lot at
7:45am? Try 6:30am if you want to be civil. Training sessions at Yamaha
start promptly at 8:00am. The first thing was the exhaustive factory
tour (2-3 hours), there is a LOT to SEE!

We had 6 instructors. Each covered their subject completely and wide ranging to be sure
there was less possibility of mis-understanding. Theoreticals were well covered.

Mike Lutely (L) and Dan Ensing (R) each did a superb job getting their points across.

My friend John Huth of Red Wing covered aspects of both brass and woodwinds as well as
enlightening those present on proper lathe procedures, assisted by Bill Mathews.

Other participants included: (LtoR) Pete Valentino and Robert Polan of Rico Products.
and Michael Faltin of Instrumental Music Center, Tucson, AZ; Desmond Welch of
Welch Music, Twin Falls, ID and
Jamie Hafner, an independent repairman from Brevard, NC.
 The sales end was
(LtoR) Roger Eaton, Dealer Development Manager of Yamaha and
Felix Pereiro of Dynamic Presentations Unlimited who advised how every employee is
on the sales staff, whether they know it, want to be or not. Increasing
potential.

It was nice to see 2 of our Z113 sanders in use and one of our Z60/Z61 dent machines.
I didn't get any shots of Bill Mathews while here as we were
always so busy. But, he and Judy Lemmink, Yamaha's Dealer Development Supervisor, were very involved keeping things
running along, making sure everyone had the right supplies and that the break supplies
were well stocked. We all came to LEARN
and WE DID! Thanks!
