This idea came about as we were working on seveeral new ways to use our great Power
Discs (Z60-24,25,25L,25AL,26,26L & 27) and Rollers (Z60-28,29 &30) with the Newish Z61E
"EuroBase"
and the NEW Z60-50 Tonehole and Body Burnishing Set of
tools OR "Finger Tool", as so named by our customers.
Many of these new tools require moving the quill assembly (Pressure
adjustment wheel) up or down, very much and very often.
So, Curtis designed
and built a fitting
which held the quill holder and was adjustable, welded it on; then split the whole unit so that it
could be cinched or clamped like the mandrel clamp on the bottom leg of our
machine. After about two years, it was refined to the point where it is
now; easily
used by those who are right or left handed, equally well. The unit also
saves a lot of time and usually pays for itself, in time saving alone, even if
only used twice a day, for as little as 10 weeks.
Today, 6/1/07, ALL Z60's now come this more efficient way. Just send in
your old Z60 frame and have
it modified with this handy, efficient and infinitely adjustable modification.
